Retired Stationary Engineer, Dupont Canada - 32 Years of Service

After a courageous battle with Leukemia at the age of 82, Ralph died peacefully at his son's home in Mount Chesney on Saturday, July 7, 2012. Ralph was the oldest son of the late Orrie and Helena Orr. He will be terribly missed by his wife Ruth "Geri". Loving and cherished father of Dale (Wendy), Cindy (Gary) Conner, Sue (late Stephen) Cota. Grandfather of Tanner. He is survived by his dear brother Duane (Lou) Orr, and Arthur "Pat" (Marlene) Orr. He will be remembered by his first wife Jeanette Lines (Don). Forever in the hearts of all of his extended families John (Cathy) Hohmeier, Sharon (Peter) O'Hearn, Bud and Beverly Andress. Grandchildren Robin, Holly, John, Shannon, and Seamus. Great-grandfather of Mitchell Johnathan. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and great friends.
Ralph enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and hockey. He was an avid pool player and would pocket the balls in a single round. He was an active member of Branch 092 Legion in Gananoque. He enjoyed his retirement years, spending winters in Cocoa Beach, Florida, boating on the St. Lawrence and fishing the Gananoque River. His happiest times were spent with friends and family, of which he was extremely proud. His sincere, "always will help," easy-going personality won him many friendships over the years that he valued deeply.

In keeping with Ralph's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at the Robert J. Reid and Sons Funeral Home - "The Chapel on the Corner" 309 Johnson Street, on Thursday, July 12th. Inurnment to follow at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Glenburnie. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations for those who wish, can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 092, Gananoque or to the Leukemia Foundation.
